Welcome to the official website of the Rice chapter for the American Society of Civil Engineers. For the most current news and events of Rice ASCE, check out our Facebook page and our online calendar. From this website, you can learn about the officers, view minutes from past meetings and read general information about the chapter. Additionally, you can learn about concrete canoe and how to participate in the competition.
The Rice ASCE chapter seeks to promote civil engineering as a course of study and ultimately a profession to the
students of Rice University. Throughout the year we sponsor many events including a civil engineering career fair, outreach opportunities, participation in the concrete canoe competition, and general club meetings in which engineering speakers come to present.
Our regular meetings are biweekly on Fridays at lunch in the Mechanical Laboratory, Room 254. Lunch is served free!
This year our meetings focus on presentations by engineering firms in the practice, leading to recruitment opportunities. Additionally, we will be participating in the Concrete Canoe competition and potentially also the Daniel Mead Student Paper competition.
